First offense: Warning and/or infraction
Second offense: 2-3 day ban
Third offense: 1 week ban
You may be permabanned for continual offenses.

I made a note in the rules saying that submitting spurious post reports can get your reporting abilities revoked.

Can we do that? Turn off reporting abilties? Also might want to make it a bit harsher like "Spurious and false reports can be an offense and earn oneself a infraction."

It is an option that administrators have; we would have to go to David or Dom about it. But it is an option that indeed exists.

And, I don't want it to sound too harsh, because I want it to be clear that this is not the most grievous of offenses. I think that the punishment, by its very nature, needs to be light; if it sounds too harsh, then people may think twice about sending reports, worried that it may be interpreted as useless and cost them. That's exactly the sort of reaction that I don't want to see, y'know? So I phrase it to be as gentle as possible.

Ah undestandable but at the same time it's the same thing as pulling a fire alarm; making the firemen thing there's a giant fire and when they reach there only to find a bunch of kids laughing.

In a way it's a small thing but at the same time it is something serious; not to mention everytime something is reported it goes to our emails so someone could in truth go about and report every single post in the forum and kill our emails :P

[EDIT] Seems David has already added something into the rules so our talk is now moot!
